INNSIDE ELOUNDA BY MELIÁ
The INNSiDE Elounda by Meliá project in Crete explores the dynamic relationship between urban hospitality and the expansive Mediterranean resort landscape. Developed in close collaboration with the Meliá brand, the design translates a contemporary urban identity into a context strongly defined by its sense of place. The existing architecture, characterized by fragmented volumes that had grown over time, served as the starting point for a design strategy focused on spatial cohesion and continuity.
By unifying these volumes and carefully articulating materials, colors, and light, the design strikes a refined balance between urban vibrancy and local tranquility. The result is an expressive architectural experience deeply rooted in the identity of Crete, offering guests a sense of both familiarity and discovery.
The comprehensive renovation of the existing buildings spans a site area of 13,400 m² and features 85 rooms across a project area of 5,000 m². Monoplan was responsible for the Concept Design, Design Intent, and Construction Documents phases, and further supported the project in the areas of interior design, signage, and artistic supervision.
Despite the high level of complexity and a lean project team, the construction for the client HELLENICZEUS S.A. was planned within a tight 14-month timeframe between July 2024 and September 2025. The hotel is set to open its doors in May 2026.
