LIMEHOME BASEL

In a prime location between Münzgasse and Spalenberg, Monoplan has transformed a prominent existing property into a future-oriented destination for Gold Tree Asset Management AG. The project marks the successful implementation of Limehome’s innovative short- and long-stay concept in Basel’s Old Town. Across a hotel floor area of approximately 3,100 m², the existing structure was systematically optimized to meet the high demands of modern, flexible forms of accommodation.

During an intensive four-month construction phase, the existing room capacities were restructured into 67 high-quality units. By merging guest rooms and office spaces, spacious suites were created, while the installation of 24 new kitchenettes significantly increased the appeal for long-term guests. Despite the focus on efficient modernization within the existing fabric, guest comfort and safety were significantly enhanced through targeted soundproofing measures and complex fire safety upgrades.

As general planner, Monoplan was responsible for the entire spectrum from the preliminary project to successful commissioning in November 2024. With an investment of around CHF 3.1 million for the hotel area, a project was realized that stands out through technical precision and the clear implementation of operator guidelines. The result is a contemporary response to the growing demand for smart living in an urban context.
