SOÏ 28
Soï 28 – Asian Street Food by Stefan Heilemann is a hidden address in Zurich’s Old Town at Augustinergasse 28. Part of The Living Circle and set within the Widder Hotel, the pop-up is led by Stefan Heilemann, one of Switzerland’s most renowned and highly awarded chefs. He brings his signature flavours into an urban street-food format – fast, approachable, and crafted with gourmet precision.
At Monoplan, we designed the interior refresh of this historic space. Our goal was to let the new concept feel naturally embedded in its setting: heritage remains visible and authentic, while a warm, contemporary layer introduces the energy of Asian side streets. The atmosphere is intimate, lively, and characterful, rooted in Zurich, inspired by Southeast Asia.
The layout follows the social choreography of street dining: counter seats, stools, and benches are placed closer together to encourage conversation and a “shoulder-to-shoulder” rhythm. Flexible seating is complemented by additional guest zones near the window and above the stair to the restrooms. An expanded bar counter integrates drinks service and takeaway pick-up.
Craftsmanship and tactility define the material palette: custom solid-oak furniture by Felix Graf, earthy tones that echo existing terracotta, and darker accents for depth. A visual highlight is the bamboo wall mural by Mathias Truniger (Studio Gambero), developed with Soda Studios and inspired by the historic ceiling painting, an elegant dialogue between old and new.
