Our Monoweekend in 2019 took us to Ireland. With 36 participants, we not only set a new MonoRecord, but also took up half of the seats in the aeroplane!

From Zurich we went directly to Cork and then continued by bus to The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens, where we were welcomed with scones, jam and coffee in the …

… light-flooded restaurant. Afterwards we were given a guided tour through the public areas of the hotel – which were completely rebuilt by Monoplan – and through the protected gardens with their extraordinary tree population. We enjoyed the evening program with delicious local food and great Irish live music to the full.

The next morning the hiking boots were laced and the backpacks were unbuckled. On foot we went through the Gap of Dunloe, an impressive landscape with sheep here and horses there. A rich barbecue was waiting for the sporty Monoplaners and after a short lunch break in the green Irish grass, …

… three boats took us through the national park to the second stop of our stay: The Europe Hotel & Resort, where Monoplan was also responsible for the design of the guest rooms and the Panorama Restaurant.

… the outdoor pool of the spa area. After the first-class dinner, a visit to an original Irish pub with live music and an Irish party crowd was waiting for us as a crowning finale.

Das Monoweekend 2019 führte uns nach Irland. Mit 36 Teilnehmern haben wir nicht nur einen neuen MonoRekord aufgestellt, sondern auch gefühlt das halbe Flugzeug eingenommen!

Von Zürich ging es direkt nach Cork und dann weiter mit dem Bus zum The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens, wo wir bei Scones, Konfitüre und Kaffee im …

… lichtdurchfluteten Restaurant willkommen geheissen wurden. Es folgte eine Führung durch die – von Monoplan komplett neu errichteten – öffentlichen Bereiche des Hotels und durch die geschützte Gartenanlage mit dem aussergewöhnlichen Baumbestand. Das Abendprogramm mit köstlichem lokalem Essen und toller irischer Livemusik genossen wir in vollen Zügen.

Am nächsten Morgen wurden die Wanderschuhe geschnürt und die Rucksäcke aufgeschnallt. Zu Fuss ging es durch das Gap of Dunloe, einer beeindruckenden Landschaft mit Schafen hier und Pferden dort. Ein reichhaltiges Barbecue wartete auf die sportlichen Monoplaner, und nach einer kleinen Mittagspause im grünen, irischen Grass ging es …

… mit drei Booten durch den Nationalpark zur zweiten Station unseres Aufenthalts: dem The Europe Hotel & Resort, bei dem Monoplan auch für das Design der Gästezimmer und des Panorama Restaurants verantwortlich war.

Dort wurden wir mit Irish-Coffee am Bootsanleger empfangen. Kurze Zeit später genossen wir den herrlichen Sonnenschein und die wunderschöne Aussicht vom …

… Aussenpool des Spa-Bereichs. Nach dem erstklassigen Abendessen wartete als krönender Abschluss ein Besuch in einem original Irish-Pub auf uns, mit Livemusik und irischem Partypublikum.
