Moxy Hotel – Lausanne

At the end of December 2019, the first Moxy hotel in Switzerland opened in Lausanne. The lifestyle brand from the Marriott hotel group appeals to a young, design-savvy and price-conscious target audience. The new build, situated in the trendy, car-free Flon quarter, was planned by Lausanne-based architects Localarchitecture.

Thanks to our specialism in hotels, Monoplan was tasked with the interior design. For this we took inspiration from the Olympics. Not only is Lausanne the main seat of the Olympic Committee, but also where the Youth Olympic Games 2020 will be held. The requirement for the Moxy Lausanne to open in time for the Games was met.

The 113 rooms are stylish and minimalistic and focus on the most important matters for the target audience: a heavenly bed, a steaming hot shower, super-fast Wi-Fi and a 42-inch TV.

On the ground floor, various public areas like the lobby, reception, conference rooms and lounge with a bar, merge together to form an “open lobby”. The breakfast buffet is based on a “grab-and-go” concept. Long tables and comfortable lounges invite you to relax and make new acquaintances.
